EMERGENCY CHANGES

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
AND NOW,
this C day of April, 2020, due to the continuing
coronavirus health crisis, non-jail sentencing cases shall be added to the
list of essential hearings to be dealt with presently by the Court, Due to
the large backlog of cases, the Court’s concern for social distancing, and
the Court’s concern for defendants’ right to a speedy sentence the Court
will begin scheduling sentence courts.
Sentence court will be in either Courtroom No.
1 or 2 and the times
for each sentence shall be spread out. All afforneys, staff, defendants,
and others
shall practice social distancing and take all other
recommended precautions. Defendants shall be encouraged to come
alone and victims shall be encouraged to submit statements in writing.
Sentence rights will be broadcast by video and wriffen sentence
rights will be provided for each defendant to review and sign.
It
is
expected that each defendant shall review his/her sentence rights by
video or writing prior to sentencing.
