Northampton County Courts Update COVID-19 Protocols
Harrisburg – Northampton County President Judge Michael Koury Jr. issued updated COVID-19
mitigation efforts and protocols affecting staff, court users and visitors to the court facility.
“The health and safety of all court users, judges and staff continues to be our top priority,”
Northampton County President Judge Michael Koury Jr. said. “Amid the ongoing pandemic , the Court
continues to closely monitor guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Center for Disease
Control as well as county COVID case rates and has updated its mitigation efforts to maintain public
health and safety accordingly.”
As outlined in an Order issued recently by the president judge, the following updated guidelines are
effective immediately:
• All court employees not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and under the supervision and

authority of the president judge must wear a mask;
Individuals not fully vaccinated entering courtrooms and court facilities under the supervision of
the president judge must wear a mask. Consideration will be given to those with medical
conditions unable to wear a mask;
• Masks must be worn by residents, employees and visitors to the Northampton County Juvenile
Justice Center, including juvenile detention and treatment, regardless of vaccination status; and
• Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms, diagnosed with COVID-19 or directed to quarantine,
isolate or self-monitor will be prohibited from entering any courtroom or court facility,
regardless of vaccination status.
