IN RE: THIRTY-FIFTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT
EMERGENCY OPERATIONS
No. 2020 - AD-

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
AND NOW,
this 27th day of April, 2020,
this Court’s previous
Administrative Orders at numbers 2020-AD-5, 2020-AD-6, 2020-AD-7, and
2020-AD-8, and civil docket number 2020-1220, are hereby amended to
extend this emergency schedule through May 31, 2020 subject to further
Order of Court.
In addition thereto, the Court hereby adds the following
essential cases as follows:
1.
Arraignment courts starting with May 5, 2020, shall proceed.
However, all arraignment courts will be held in either Courtroom No.
1 or 2.
Waivers are encouraged to be obtained as much as possible.
All
afforneys, staff, defendants, and others shall practice social distancing
and take all other recommended precautions. Defendants shall be
encouraged to come alone. Advanced technology shall be utilized for
all incarcerated defendants at time of arraignment.
2.
Register of Wills will begin probate estates by appointment
only, one estate per appointment. Register of Wills will only permit the

Executor/Administrator with the presence of an afforney for
said
appointment. All renunciations, subscribing and non-subscribing witnesses
must be notarized outside the office, All other filings must still be done by
mail or email.
3.
Appeal cases with the Domestic Relations Section can be
added to non-support courts; however the total number of cases at any
one time may not exceed a maximum number of
ten (10) cases.
Contempt cases will continue to be given priority. All afforneys, staff,
defendants, and others shall practice social distancing and take all other
recommended precautions.
4.
Contempt, non-emergency special
relief,
and custody
conferences in custody cases can be scheduled; however advanced
technology shall be utilized as much as possible.
